Hi Guys,
I hope your all well and had a great week!
Just a personal post that I would like to share with you about why I'll be missing from the land of blogging for a week or two lol!
4 years ago I had a Kidney Transplant and the Kidney was donated to me by my brother and in October last year I fell ill and it resulted in the Kidney rejecting and had to have treatment to try and save it.
We thought we were winning the fight but my levels never came back to 'normal' again so I have been officially told that I'm in Renal Failure and have to re commence Dialysis ASAP as I'm not doing to well.
On Tuesday I had to be admitted to hospital to have an access made in my arm called a av Fistula where the surgeon takes a vain and an artery and joins them together so the access can take the needles they use for Dialysis.
I have an av Fistula in my left lower arm but it's now blocked and couldn't be fix so I had a brand spankin' new one in my right upper arm from my armpit to my elbow and it's really freaky as when you touch it you can fell it 'buzzing' know as the 'thrill' which is the blood rushing through the Fistula and you can even hear it when it's quite, I can't remember hearing this sound with my first Fistula lol!
Here's a pic of my arm with the dressings still on and some swelling and bruising. I'm not quite ready to see what it looks like under the dressings, I'm dreading it to be honest lol!
As I'm in a little bit(o.k. lots)of pain, I'm unable to 'create' at the moment and I can't bend my elbow, I even have to get hubby to do my hair and face, not a pretty site I can tell you roflol!
But I'll have my project up for AnnaBelle Stamps New Release Blog Hop that will be happening a little later in April but in the meantime you still have time to take part in this weeks AnnaBelle Stamps Blog Hop for your chance at winning out new line of 'Digi Stamps' and don't forget all the fun theme challenges at AnnaBelle Stamps Blog for even more chances at winning!
Just before I sign off, it's quit hard typing with one finger on the hand you don't type with lol, it takes forever lol and I do have to declare that hospital food is the pits lol!
I'll sign off now as I have most probably bored you to death with my sad tales of woe lol!
Till a few weeks time, Take Care and Keep smiling,

ReplyDeleteHi Kylie, SO very sorry to hear of your renal failure once more. I do hope that you can feel well enough through all your dialysis, to keep doing some of the things you love doing [like stamping. I just wish that I was able to donate you a live kidney. It is so hard with all the legality and I think each state's laws are different.
ReplyDeleteKylie,
ReplyDeleteI was so sorry to hear about your health problems but I so admire your positive attitude. I hope you will soon be feeling better and look forward to your return to crafting in the near future. Good luck with the dialysis.
Hugs

My prayers are with you. I have kidney damage caused by lupus and the damage is just at the point before dialysis! I haven"t gone thru it yet & you are in my heart & mind. Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteTake care, take time and take a break. You are the only one of "you". Worry about the things you can change and put the rest in the little place in your brain that holds the stuff you can't change. You are a great and talented artist but for now, your talents are better spent focusing on you. We'll still be here when you are ready.

Hi Kylie, I hope you are doing ok and that you are feeling better soon, I have not been to your blog lately (or anyone else's as life has been just so busy) so I hope by now your treatment is making you feel oh so much better. Take care and god bless you today and for Easter.

hey Kylie. I hope things have settled for you a bit and your wounds have healed. I have been with a good mate thru a v v similar thing and he ended up with a fistula post kidney transplant. It was his party trick when trying to pick up gals!!!
ReplyDeleteOne thing those with a chonic illness have it a stubbourn sense of determination and a good sense of humour!! I hope yours are holding up at this time.
Hi Kylie, I've just discovered your blog through Chupa and AnnaBelle stamps, and was delighted to discover you're another talented Aussie stamper.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about your renal failure and hope you are able to receive a new kidney soon. My BIL had a kidney transplant nearly 11 years ago so know what a difference it makes to one's life.
All the best for the future.
